All About Annie Mae

. She died 3 days before my birthday from breast cancer, during breast cancer awareness month. After I finished my semester I decided I wouldn't go back but I would do what she taught me to do, bakinging, to continue her legacy. I never want her to be forgotten.
Why did you choose the name that you chose for your business?
It's named after my grandmother Annie Mae Moore. I felt honored to do what she taught me so I felt it was only right to nema the business after her.
What do you feel is most important for small business owners to understand today?
I feel that we as small business owners must help and support on another in any way that we can. I believe in the extended hand. Not to recieve but to give.
What have been some of your own successes and/or struggles with maintaining your own business?
I was featured in Pastry Art & Design Magazine in 2007, I have had numerous articles done. The most sucessful thing is my growth as a Pastry Chef. I seen where I was and where I am now and its a major difference. The struggles I continue to have is financially. Its hard running a business full time and still pay all your bils and have monies for the business. Major struggle.
What are some of the ways business owners are dealing with today's economy & can claim or maintain their sustainability?
Well, I can't speak for all business owners only myself. I try to give customers more than they expect without going broke. Facebook has been and still is a great marketing tool for me and it has increased my visibility and sales. I do a lot of promotions on Facebook. I have even started my own fanpage.
What kind of reception has your business received from its customers?
Once people have tasted my product they fall in love with it. Not tooting my own horn but I put love in every cake as my grandmother did. I follow the blueprint she created.
Has your business been nominated for or won any awards?
No I have not won or been nominated for any awards yet
Are you offering any deals/specials for customers right now?
